Get Out The Native Vote (GOTNV) works to educate voters and candidates alike. It is important all Alaska Native/American Indian (AN/AI) voters be informed about candidates running for public office and the key issues in debate, and that candidates be aware of and attentive to issues affecting the Native community.
Maintain your voter education and stay informed and engaged with candidates, ballot measures, special elections, and Ranked Choice Voting. We also encourage more Native leaders to run for local, state, and federal office.
This strategy is comprised of three parts:
- Assisting Alaska Native/American Indian (AN/AI) people to be educated on the candidates and ballot measures.
- Educating the candidates on issues of importance to Alaska Native people and encouraging them to develop Native policy platforms.
- Encouraging more Native people to run for office.
We will aid in this effort, working with regional organizations and other nonprofits to increase voter awareness and education around key issues.
